Vegas Gems is an online sweepstakes casino that made its debut in 2023. Visiting a newer social casino site, I was eager to put Vegas Gems to the test to see if it could match my expectations. This is not a real money casino but a sweepstakes site that uses its unique Shards and Gems to replace Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. You can redeem your Gems for cash rewards or claim free Shards through promotions such as the Mystery Box welcome bonus.
With plenty of competition out there, how does the Vegas Gems promo code stack up against rival sweeps casinos? We’ll also look at how they compare in terms of games, payments, customer support, and security? Read below for the full review to find out.

About the Vegas Gems Welcome Bonus
The Vegas Gems no deposit bonus is unique because it starts with a mini-game: a Mystery Box that rewards up to 1,000 Gems, plus several thousand Shards. To play, verify your account, then visit the “Rewards” section to find your Level 1 bonus. You’ll receive anywhere from 0.25 to 1,000 Gems. When I created my account, I also receive 9,600 Shards.
If you want to purchase more playing currency, Vegas Gems also offers a purchase-match bonus: a 50% Gem boost, up to 20 Gems ($20 value). So, no matter how many Shards you purchase, it will include 50% additional Gems as a free bonus.
For example, if you buy $10 worth of Shards, you receive 11 free Gems, plus 5.5 Gems (50%), for 15.5 Gems total.
To receive the maximum purchase-match bonus at Vegas Gems, you need to buy the $49.99 package, which comes with 200,000 Shards and 55 Gems, plus a 20 Gems bonus, for 75 Gems total.
Vegas Gems Promo Codes for Existing Users
I was able to keep claiming Gems – the on-site currency of Vegas Gems – once I became an ongoing user. On the promotions page, I found bonuses such as a daily promo that delivers a reward when you log into your Vegas Gems account each day, alongside several other promotions and rewards.
Full Vegas Gems Review
Vegas Gems is a pretty new kid on the sweepstakes casino block. Even so, I put it through the same multi-step review process I do for all casinos. I broke down all the factors that users value and gave them an impartial score based on my own experience.
Game Variety: 4.2/5.0 Yays
My first impression of the Vegas Gems game lobby was not of the most visually appealing casino. It is a rather bland-looking sweepstakes casino set on a black background. That is fine by me because at least the user interface is functional and reminds me more of a classic online casino rather than a sweeps style casino. For example, on the main lobby page, you can see games split into Top Picks and New Releases. I also really like the ticker on the lobby that shows the latest wins and number of Gems.
Over 500 online slots and casino table games are available. Naturally, slots are the main focus, with games from providers such as Netgaming, 3 Oaks Gaming, Habanero, and Booming Games. It is always worth browsing the collection yourself, but good slots to start with include 12 Zodiacs, Super Hot Chilli Hold and Win, Wizards Want War, Chief Hawks Spirit Walk, and Storm of Olympus.
Alongside the slots, Vegas Gems has one of the best table game collections I have seen from a social casino. Most brands ignore this category, but Vegas Gems has 71 titles. You can choose between multiple variants of RNG roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and video poker:
- Blackjack
- Blackjack Lucky 7s
- Baccarat
- American Roulette
- European Roulette
- Three Card Poker
- Texas Hold’em
Unfortunately, the live dealer section is less impressive. I could only find one live table, the popular Asian card game Dragon Tiger. It is not uncommon for sweepstakes casinos to ignore live dealer games, but more brands are offering options. Because of the lack of live tables, I am scoring Vegas Gems 0.8 Nays, but for the overall games and number of titles, I am giving Vegas Gems 4.2 Yays.
Win Potential: 4.5/5 Yays
Even though you won’t be playing for real money on Vegas Gems, I still recommend sticking to the idea of responsible gambling. Especially if you decide to purchase Shards to continue playing games when your free currency runs out, don’t treat any casino-style game as a way to make money, as these are games of chance for entertainment only.
Every player wants the best chance of winning games, and the simplest metric to use is RTP. A Return to Player (RTP) essentially shows how much a game pays back to players on average. Choosing a higher RTP game means in theory you have more chance of winning back your investment.
Vegas Gems has a suitable selection of high RTP options across its library. Table games are the best option for higher payout percentages, especially card games like blackjack and baccarat.
On Vegas Gems, I chose those two games powered by Evoplay (which is my go-to provider for high RTP games):
- Texas Hold’em Bonus (98.37%)
- Blackjack Lucky Sevens (99.6%)
Because I also love playing slots, I was happy to see a collection of high RTP options, including:
- The Big Deal Deluxe (96.85%) by Habanero
- Super Duper (96.97%) by Booming Gaming
- Elephant Stampede (96.91%) by Ruby Play
Sometimes, it is worth taking more risk for higher rewards, but Vegas Gems does not have jackpot games.
With a broad selection of high RTP table games and slots, I am giving Vegas Gems 4.5 Yays as there is plenty of winning potential. I would like to see a variety of jackpot slots, so I am scoring 0.5 Nays because some players enjoy taking more risks to claim bigger rewards.
Payment Methods: 4.3/5.0 Yays
Playing on Vegas Gems Casino completely for free is possible by claiming free Shards. Despite this, there will be times when you free currency runs out, and you can either stop playing or purchase more. If you want to continue playing, you can buy packs of Shards, with most bundles also including Gems.
Here are the packages I found at the Vegas Gems Coin Store:
- $4.99 = 50,000 Shards + 5 Free Gems
- $9.99 = 100,000 Shards + 11 Free Gems
- $19.99 = 175,000 Shards + 21 Free Gems
- $49.99 = 200,000 Shads + 55 Free Gems
- $70 = 225,000 Shards + 72 Free Gems
- $99.99 = 250,000 Shards + 103 Free Gems
- $199.99 = 500,000 Shards + 204 Free Gems
- $299.99 = 450,000 S + 304 Free Gems
- $499.99 = 700,000 S + 503 Free Gems
- $999.99 = 1,000,000 S + 1005 Free Gems
It is worth noting that a first purchase comes with a 50% increase on Gems. Vegas Gems is not the most affordable sweepstakes casino. The basic Shards package of $4.99 is higher than other similar casinos, which may start as low as $2 or even $0.99. I will defend the basic Vegas Gems package though because it comes with 5 Gems whereas many opening packages on other casinos offer just 1 sweepstakes currency.
As for payment methods, Vegas Gems has a solid selection of options, but I also found it was missing some key methods. I really like the inclusion of cryptocurrency payments. While I do not use crypto, having more choice and flexibility is good. On the flip side, it is disappointing to see e-wallet payments such as PayPal or prepaid platforms like Paysafecard now.
Payment Method |
Purchases | Redemptions | Average Redemption Time |
---|---|---|---|
Credit Cards | Yes | No | N/A |
Cryptocurrencies | Yes | Yes ($100 minimum) | 3-4 days |
Online Bank Transfer | No | Yes ($100 minimum) | 3-4 days |
Gift Cards | No | Yes ($25 minimum) | 24 Hours |
As a sweepstakes casino, Vegas Gems does not allow you to cash out your Shards. You can only use the on-site currency for free play. You will be able to redeem Gems and claim cash rewards. Redemption times are listed officially as up to 10 days. I think this is Vegas Gems covering its bases because, in my experience, the transaction times take around 3-4 days and not 10.
Overall I am incredibly happy with the payment experience on Vegas Gems, with smooth purchases and Gem redemptions. The addition of cryptocurrency support and flexible Shards packages are impressive, especially since all purchase bundles include free Gems. I am giving 4.3 Yays but am also giving 0.7 Nays because of the lack of e-wallet support.
Promotions for Existing Users: 4.0/5.0 Yays
Vegas Gems has regular promos to ensure you can keep playing games for free without needing to make a purchase. While the offers are not as lucrative as on the absolute best sweepstakes casinos, they are solid and reward you for loyalty.
- First Purchase Bonus: After claiming the welcome bonus, there is an additional promotion for the first Shards purchase. You can choose between 10 Gems with 50% extra Gems for purchases up to $20 or 10% extra Gems on purchases up to $100.
- Mystery Chests: The Mystery Chests feature from the welcome bonus delivers one chest with random rewards every day when you log in. The more consecutive days you log in, the bigger the rewards are given.
- Rain Bonus: Every hour, Vegas Gems pools together all Gems wagers from players who are logged in. A set amount of these Gems is taken and then given to lucky users who have made a purchase of at least $10 within the last month.
- Referral: If you recommend Vegas Gems Casino to a friend, and they register and make a purchase, you will receive a 1-10% revenue share from the purchase.
I found a standard set of ongoing promotions on Vegas Gems, but I do like the Rain bonus concept. The biggest issue I have with the ongoing bonuses is that they are all small. There are no big generous rewards to be found. So, while I was able to play for free using bonus Shards, I know that serious slots players will eventually need to make a purchase. I will give 4.0 Yays for the different bonus types, but I am also scoring 1.0 Nays for the lowball rewards.
Mobile Platform: 4.4/5.0 Yays
Most users visiting sweepstajkes casinos are using their mobile devices and not a desktop PC. It is really important for any iGaming site to be compatible with mobile. There are different ways to achieve this, such as through a sweepstakes casino app or through a web browser. I generally prefer a casino to offer both options, but it is not a dealbreaker if mobile support is exclusively on a compatible website.
And that’s where Vegas Gems comes short. There is no downloadable application, but you can access the casino fully through your mobile browser. Compatible with iOS and Android, the browser is well-optimized to transition to smaller screens. Even so, the generally bland UI of the desktop site hardly comes to life on a phone or tablet.
I will say it is easy to navigate, and the performance is good. One of the benefits of using a mobile browser is you have access to all the games without restrictions. Built on HTML5, the website provides a seamless and efficient way to enjoy Vegas Gems.
Even so, I cannot overlook the lack of an app simply because I always prefer more flexibility. Apps also deliver specific benefits such as notifications, smoother connectivity, and a bespoke UI. So, I am going to give 0.6 Nays for Vegas Gems not having an app. Luckily, the mobile website makes up for it and deserves 4.4 Yays.
Customer Support: 4.0/5.0 Yays
Vegas Gems keeps its customer support simple by offering just email and chat contact. Before getting to both options, I want to talk about the rather poor FAQ section. There is so little information and just a handful of questions. Let’s be clear: I do not enjoy long FAQ sections, but it is important that key details are available. Vegas Gems fails in this aspect, and I hope the FAQ has an expansion in the future.
Moving to the customer support, the live chat is available 24/7. I made contact with agents several times and each interaction was good. Connection times are a little slow, but I was always talking to someone within a minute. During my interactions, the Vegas Gems team was knowledgeable and was capable of answering my questions.
I also put the email support to the test and sent a few tickets. While the operator says it responds to user emails within 24 hours, I always had a reply within a few hours. Vegas Gems is active on social media, but I did not engage with the customer team on socials.
- Live chat: 24/7
- Email: support@vegasgems.com
- Social media: VegasGemsdotCom (Twitter), VegasGems (Instagram)
There are some areas of the customer support experience that need improvements. The FAQ section is laughably bad and the connection times for live chat are on the slower side. Also, there is no phone support. For these issues, I am giving Vegas Gems customer support 1.0 Nay. The positive live chat experiences I had go some way to making up for the problems, so I am giving 4.0 Yays.
Vegas Gems Overall Rating: 4.0/5.0 Yays
Yays – 4.0: Vegas Gems has a big game portfolio, and I like that the games come from providers you do not always see on casino sites. Bonuses are decent and flexible, including accumulating bonuses for daily log ins.
Nays – 1.0: There are enough niggling issues with Vegas Gems that hold it back from being a truly excellent sweepstakes casino. I want to see more generous bonuses, extra payment options, and a more rounded customer experience. Nothing here is a dealbreaker, so I am comfortable giving Vegas Gems a full Yay recommendation.
Vegas Gems Casino Coins
The idea of Gems and Shards can be confusing at first glance, but the system actually works like any sweepstakes casino:
- Shards: This is the standard currency for gaming, and other social casinos are known as gold coins. You can claim Shards through bonuses or by purchasing them, allowing you to play games on Vegas Gems. However, it is not possible to redeem/cash out Shard.
- Gems: You can use this currency as the sweepstakes coin, allowing you to play in modes to win more Gems. Getting enough Gems allows you to redeem them for cash rewards. Gems are available from giveaways, Shards packages, and bonuses, but you cannot purchase them directly.
Security and Safety
Because Vegas Gems made its debut in 2023, I went into my review with caution. Newer sites do not have the history and reputation of more established brands, so it is understandable to have concerns. Luckily, I can reassure you by saying that Vegas Gems met my expectations in terms of security and fairness.
You can play with complete confidence in 47 states, with only Idaho, Washington, Michigan, and Nevada not available. Vegas Gems uses SSL encryption to ensure all the personal and financial information you share is protected. This extends to payments you make across all methods. To ensure players are safe, the casino conducts full Know Your Customer measures, including ID verification.
Vegas Gems uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) to ensure all game outcomes are random. There is no way for you or the casino to influence results. While the casino says it allows independent testing to ensure fairness. However, the specific testing labs are not named in the site T&Cs. I do not doubt the reputability of the RNG, but it is always better if the casino is transparent about how it tests its software.
Responsible Gaming
I was not impressed with the responsible gambling resources on Vegas Gems. Let’s be clear: I do not suspect something untoward is happening. It just seems that the casino does not go in-depth enough to promote responsible gaming. While there is a unique page for responsible gambling, all you get is advice on detecting and treating problem gaming. There are not many tools, such as purchase or game limits, and there are no links to responsible gambling helplines.
Will Vegas Gems Make You Say Yay?
Launching in 2023, Vegas Gems is a relatively new sweepstakes casino and in several areas its lack of experience is obvious. While not right bad in any aspect, I want to see improvements in payment methods, customer support, and responsible gambling features. Despite those concerns, none of the issues are major and I am definitely still giving Vegas Gem and overall Yay. It offers a broad and interesting game collection, a lot of flexibility for coin purchases, and decent bonuses for new and ongoing users.
