It’s been exciting to watch sweepstakes and social casinos develop over the years. What was once just a few sites offering a few slots have become dozens of sites, each with hundreds of games. So where do things go from here? We have some predictions for sweepstakes casino trends to look out for in 2025.
1. New, Innovative Gaming
Sweepstakes and social casinos will continue to launch new and innovative gaming options. We’ve seen a surge of fish shooting games, which are quickly becoming a sweepstakes casino staple, as well as crash games. It’s likely that more unique games will become available, and what they could be is limited only by the imagination of gaming developers.
2. More Social Sportsbooks
Right now, there are far more social and sweepstakes casinos than there are social sportsbooks. But we strongly predict that that’s going to change. Real money sports betting legalization has slowed down considerably while some of the country’s biggest states, like Texas and California, aren’t close to legalizing it. Social sportsbooks can enter those markets in the meantime, and it would be surprising if they didn’t.
3. Focus on Responsible Gambling
Responsible gambling is a huge focus at real-money online casinos and sportsbooks, and several responsible gambling measures are required by law in most states. However, sweepstakes and social casinos don’t fall under these laws, and therefore must take it upon themselves to offer strong responsible gambling measures. While this is already quite prominent at the biggest sweepstakes casinos, we expect it to become a standard across the board.
4. All-in-One Sites
A handful of US-based real-money online casinos offer the all-in-one gaming experience: casino games, sports betting, and multiplayer poker, all under one roof. Examples include BetMGM and Caesars (in partnership with WSOP). Most at least offer casino games and sports betting, which has become a standard combination in states like New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
We expect to start seeing more all-in-one sites at sweepstakes casinos and social sportsbooks. So don’t be surprised if your favorite social sportsbook launches a handful of slots, or if your go-to sweepstakes casino starts listing sports odds.
5. More Live Dealers
Live dealers are becoming so common at sweepstakes casinos, it’s almost become a standard. Aside from sweepstakes casinos that exclusively offer slots, we expect more sweepstakes casinos to launch live dealers. We also expect more live dealer innovations and expansions, such as sweepstakes casinos offering exclusive live dealer rooms.
6. States Cracking Down
Among the sea of promising developments comes some bad news: state regulators will continue to restrict sweepstakes and social casinos. Some officials believe that sweepstakes casinos are merely a legal loophole to offer online casino gaming and have banned them in their jurisdictions accordingly. This reached a feverpitch in 2024, with the likes of Michigan and Nevada restricting access to several of the best sweepstakes casinos. Hopefully we’re wrong, but that signals a trend of other states following suit.

7. More Sweepstakes Casinos
Despite the expected crackdowns, more sweepstakes casinos are going to launch. There’s still plenty of room in the market for more competition, and we’ll cover each new site that launches. If they’re something special, they’ll make it into our list of the best new sweepstakes casinos. If they’re subpar, their review will reflect that.
